S'MORES

We made some yummy s'mores last weekend! Everyone had a lot of fun cooking their marshmallows to perfection. Drew and Susan have a fire pit in their backyard so it is nice and convienent to have campfires without having to go anywhere. Although in AZ we would have them on the street with the neighbors or in the backyard too. I love doing this kind of stuff. Even Morris (Ethan's dog) was good, he did look at you with puppy dog eyes for a bite. I kept feeding him the broken graham crackers to hold him over. It worked until he got a taste of the good stuff from the kids and I never saw him by me again.

The Olympics

In honor of the past two weeks watching the olympics on TV, we thought we should have our own olympics for family night. Everyone picked a country to be to represent and we made flags for our own country to have during the games. It was a lot of fun. Susan was USA, Drew was Italy, Addison was Canada, Tanner was Turkey (because it had a star and a crescent shape on the flag), Alyssa was Panama (Yes she thought of you Uncle Edward), Spencer was Jamaica, Corbin was China, Sarah was Austrailia, and Ava was France. We had 4 events: Trampoline, 50 yd dash, Long Jump, and Gymnastics. At the end we had gold medals to give out at our awards ceremony, the kids loved that part, and for dessert we had ice cream cones for our "official olympic torches".

Icee Shack

The Famous "Icee Shack"

After the rides we walked a couple blocks down to a really good icee shack. It is comparable to Bahama Bucks shaved ice. It got up to 100 degrees today, but in the shade with an icee it sure was nice out. I don't think Brad and I are missing Arizona right now. (no offence friends!) It was an all around great day in our small town of Spanish Fork. We both like the small town feel

24th of July

Well, this is the first time we have celebrated the 24th of July here in Utah. Spanish Fork had carnival rides, a rodeo, and booths up and down main street all week to celebrate. The kids got to go on a ride, Corbin of course picked the train ride and Alyssa picked the off road jeep ride. (She really thought she was driving the jeep, it was really funny to see her on the turns)

Slip N Slide

The kids are loving the slip n' Slide this summer. Last week I tried it as well and it was just as much fun as I remembered it. (I participated because 1. It looked fun & 2.Whatever I can do to keep the kids motivated to stay outside longer)
