Ava's Party part II
We had a BBQ dinner with some of Ava's friends. As you can see her friends are our neighbors and cousins. She loves our neighbors James and Tiffany and Lon and Jeannie (who couldn't make it =( ). She has friends in her church class, but this party was for the people who loved her most. We had great time, She wanted a princess party because she loves being girly. She got a new swim suit and beach towel for the summer, M &M's, drawing books, a new flower plate, little babies to take care of, and a new princess dress up outfit. Happy Birthday Ava.
Our Garden
We started a garden this year. It was a lot of work, but been worth it of course. With the use of our neighbors big machines and trailers we were able to till up the ground nicely and get some compost mixed in ready to plant. Ava was a big helper, we call her our dirt princess, she loved to play in the soft dirt once is was tilled up. We gathered a lot of rocks through the many times we tilled the ground and made a nice rock arrangement around our mailboxes. Alyssa helped arrange flowers in the front planter and they have taken off and look beautiful now after growing for a few weeks. Its been fun working outside with the kids and brad.
Random things
My Fabulous mom gave us a shelf reliance system which is totally awesome!! I love all of it, even putting it together and putting the cans on it was so much fun to watch them roll!! My OCD self taught Corbin the "right" way to put the cans in with all the titles facing the same direction on the cans, I know a little over board, but looks great.
So who remembers 4-square?!!! Our neighbors came down after dinner one night, we drew the squares up with chalk in the cul de sac and had a blast. Getting late, dark time to quit, nope not us die hards!! we turn the lights on on the car and bring out the shop lights to play another 30 minutes. Blast from the pasts are so much fun!!Banana splits with the cousins. Friday nights (not all, but most) have become, movie late nights. This time Addison and Tanner joined us and it was lots of fun for the kids to hang out.
After watching BandSlam (movie rental) the kids got a bunch of stuff and went outside to make their own band. Corbin was the drummer, Addison was the singer and Alyssa was on the guitar. Rock on!! It was a lot of fun to watch while it lasted.
Happy Birthday Bradley
Brad turned 33 this year. We had some friends over for a BBQ and I made a carrot cake for him upon his request. We have wonderful friends and neighbors who make any party fun. Brad got lots of fun presents, the kids and I made it a camping theme for all his presents. Almond Joy (fav. candy) to eat while camping, a portable toilet, and toilet paper (the nessesities). they were funny gifts at first, but really came in handy last camping trip over memorial day weekend. (I forgot camara for that trip so you will not see pictures)
Easter Egg hunt in the Snow
Well this year the kids got to find their easter eggs in the snow. We were about to do it inside, but got to thinking what the heck, put your snow boots on and a jacket and go find some eggs. The eggs stuck out like a sore thumb amongst the white snow, but the kids had a good time. Aunt Julie was down for the weekend and spent Easter weekend with us like last year. we should make it a tradtion Julie. so much fun!!
Finding Their Easter Baskets
Alyssa found her basket in the basement in a box.
Ava found her basket under their school desk. She had a surprised face when she saw it, it was cute.
Corbin took awhile to find his. He finally found his once we narrowed it to the upstairs, It was in his laundry hamper in his room.
