Corbin Turns 6

Corbins Birthday was so much fun to celebrate. He is getting to be such a big boy, great big/little brother, awesome helper.
We decorated in an all boy theme this year. Batman cake, spiderman, ironman and starwars plates, and a transformer tablecloth and banner. Alyssa mentioned that it wouldn't match, but the rest of us thought it would be way awesome!

Gingerbread House Tradition

Every year around this time we make Gingerbread Houses with the kids. This year we invited some friends to join in the fun with us too. We paired off into partners and started the fun. Its fun to see the houses, tee pees, pyramids, dog house, sleds that we all create each year. One of the good things of course is to sneek some candy between your building skills.

Alyssa's Country Report

In Alyssa's class she had to pick a country to report on to her class. She picked to study Panama. I was her picture girl/assistant. She did such a great job and was so excited the whole time to study for her report. We are very proud of her getting in front of her class and talking and reading about her report. (she doesn't like to be in spotlight).
My cool scarf was due to the very cold temperature in her classroom. I didn't bring a jacket thinking it would be warm in the class, but no. So I raided Alyssa's backpack for something to wear to keep warm!

A Fun Snow Day

One morning we woke up to snow everywhere (no surprise there). This time the snow was mostly ice and very dry so it was like our cul-du-sac was a giant ice rink. We got the neighborhood kids out and they were pulling each on their sleds. It was a very fun morning.

Snow....

Corbin has gotten so big this past year inside and out. He has loved going out with Brad in the mornings to shovel the driveway and sidewalks after a storm. Its good to have another great helper around the house, Although I love to shovel snow too so I am out there with them too.

Halloween Carnival

I took the kids to their cousins school carnival on Saturday. They played games to win prizes and bounce houses and hair painting there!

Halloween 2010

The kids went trick or treating with their cousins this year. It was a lot of fun, we had some very excited kids!
Ava was a princess, Addison was a cat, Corbin a Jack-O-lantern (to match his teeth he says), alyssa a white queen and Tanner was a vampire.

We were warned that it would rain Halloween night so we were prepared to get wet a little. We started early, the afternoon rain had stopped and it was looking good. we got through about 12 houses and we see the storm front moving in really fast! It happened so fast it was crazy. We were far from the house so nowhere to go. Luckily one of the neighbors had their garage door open and we all ran inside the garage. Next thing we know it is hailing and raining so hard we didn't have a chance if we didn't seek cover! The wind was so strong our umbrellas were useless. After awhile it wasn't stopping so we got a ride up to the house, had some hot chocolate and homemade donuts and the kids counted and sorted their candy. We went out again after a good break and did some more trick or treating in better weather; cold and wet but no rain.

Activities....

The kids had a blast swimming in the indoor pool. I am glad it was indoor, because it was rainy and cold one of the days. The guys went golfing and we found a fun playground for the kids. They all loved the teeter totter.

Yellowstone Park

This past weekend we went with some friends up north to have one last getaway before winter comes. We stayed at our friends condo in Island Park, Idaho and had a fabulous time. One of the days we drove to west yellowstone and drove around the park. We say lots of elk, buffalo and a wolf along the roadside. We went to the geysers and to Old Faithful. We didn't stay to see Old Faithful blow because it was still an hour wait and it was lunch and nap time so we head back to base camp. We also say Firehole Falls on the drive which was huge and beautiful!
