Being a Big Sister

Alyssa loves to hold Ava all the time. She likes to sit with her and read her books and loves to make her smile.

Visti to California

We took a trip to California to see Grandma & Grandpa Marshall and all our cousins. We had a good time and the kids had a lot of fun playing together. Here the kids are eating Popsicles with Ben and Jacob.

Ava rolls over

Once Ava learned to roll over, she hasn't stopped. Alyssa and Corbin are her cheer squad. They cheer her on when she is just about to roll over but her underarm gets stuck, so she rolls back the other way and trys again.

Visit to Kentucky

Bradley went back to visit his parents in Kentucky a couple of weeks ago. He had a great time hanging out and going places with them. He saw his friend Bill while he was there and did the whole guy thing.

They drove up to Louisville to see the Adams. It was a short visit, but he loved to see the kids Brady, Connor, Callie, and Ashlyn (they have gotten so big), and take the tour of their new home.

What's a Bumbo?

Ava is loving this baby seat called a "bumbo". Its made of this rubbery material so the baby can sit up as young as 3 months, once they can hold their head up on their own. It is just funny to see them so young sitting up . She loves to sit up all the time to see whats going on.

Ava's 2 1/2 months now!

A Cold front in August

We were surprised one evening when the kids and I took the trash can out how nice the weather was outside. It was probably still in the 90's but it sure did feel good from what we were used to the last couple of weeks. So we stayed outside and the kids rode their bikes and Ava watched from her car seat enjoying the nice breeze. Yes, thats Alyssa's bike Corbin is riding, I know its a girls bike, but he thinks he so big when he gets on it and goes. He loves it.

Viva Las Vegas!!!!

Brad had a Conference in Vegas this month so we all decided to go with him. We didn't want to miss a trip to Vegas! We stayed at the Paris, which is so big & cool, (like all the rest of the). The kids loved the hotel room, and got a kick out of the bathroom of all places. They did see the water show at Belagio and loved that. We walked around Ceasers Palace and down the strip a little ways until the kids and us got tired. Friday night Uncle Drew and Aunt Susan came to stay with us and on Saturday, the kids and I went with them to the outlet stores for the morning. It was a fun weekend.

Our boy becoming a man so quickly he finds the remote to the TV!

Our group of friends we met up with in Vegas for the Conference.

The kids couldn't quite make the Vegas night life. They fell asleep as we were walking back to the hotel. I guess we weren't fast enough! Alyssa is so big, she kept falling out of the stroller because her legs are so long. Needless to say we got a lot of looks as we walked back to the hotel.

Summertime Company

Grandma and Grandpa Fears came to visit this summer. We went to the new Bass Pro Shop one day and had a lot of fun looking around, shooting guns, and eating lunch. Its very similar to Cabellas.

Alyssa loved hanging out with Uncle Shawn. She was very excited when he colored with her. She loves coloring. Edward and Kelli came to visit as well and got their fill of kids, so they defiantly are waiting a little bit longer for kids I'm sure. Although they do look pretty good with two girls!!

Ava's Blessing

Ava Chalfant was blessed July 29th by her grandfather (Brad's Dad). He gave her a really nice blessing and she did a good job staying quiet. We both were able to have our parents here and some of our brothers and sisters came for the occasion too. It was good to visit with everyone and we all had a good weekend. Sarah's mom made Ava's blessing dress and bonnet and did a really beautiful job on it. I love it! Thank you. Ava is now 13 pounds 1 ounce and 24" long. She smiles all the time at us and the kids are loving her even more every day.

4th of July

For the Fourth of July, we were invited to a BBQ at our friends house for the night. We went swimming, had yummy Hot Dogs and Hamburgers, and a good dessert that the kids help make. We saw some fireworks from a distance when we were getting ready to leave. The kids were so tired, they didn't what to think of them. Some of the guys did bottle bombs that were really loud when the exploded! The kids liked that, except Ava, they kept waking her up. It was Good times, and Good company.

Sisters

We just dug up this picture of Alyssa when she was a baby. You can tell some similarities and that they are sisters.

Its a .......Girl!!!

Brad and I were defiantly surprised that it was a girl. We both were expecting a boy for some reason. We named her Ava Chalfant. She was 7 pounds 10 ounces and 21 " long. She is such a good baby. She has very little hair, compared to the other two kids, she has no hair. The kids are all over her all the time. Instead of saying proud parents, you can say proud Big Sister and Brother! We are still teaching Corbin to be "soft", he likes to poke her and grab at her. He is very excited to have her home. I don't know why the kids are so interested all the time, Ava just sleeps and eats all day, pays them no attention, yet they just want to be next to her and touch her 24/7. They love her. We are all doing well and are recuperating from all the excitement.

The Big 30!

Bradley turned 30 finally. He has been waiting anxiously for this day for a long time! Ha Ha
We went to PF Changs for dinner with a few other couples and had a nice evening out with just adults. Brad went with his friend Jayson to a Suns game for his birthday and got great seats.....(with a great view of the Cheerleaders, oh and a view of the game.) We had the Halls over for a birthday dinner on Sunday and I think for the most part he had a great birthday this year.

Whats Going on in Arizona

Now that Spring is here (in Arizona) The boys are working hard in the yard. We did have a few below freezing nights this winter, all but one of our plants survived. we love to be outside playing on the grass and the kids love to run around and ride their bikes. Its great to be outside.

We had a bon fire the other night and cooked hot dogs and roasted marshmallows. The kids loved that. I ended up cooking the hot dogs, because they couldn't get close enough to the fire to cook their hot dogs.
Any chance the kids get they want to have a picnic or eat dinner outside. We have had some hot days, but it is still cooling down nice in the evenings and at night. Brad is doing well. He went through a "Bearded" stage. Now that it is hotter, the beard didn't last long. He still works from home and his family keeps him busy. I on the other hand am counting down the weeks for our newest member of the family to be here. I am about 33 weeks now. June 8th in the magic date and we are all excited. Corbin and Alyssa keep talking to my belly as if the baby was sitting in my lap, kissing my belly all the time. You can't tell they aren't excited or anything. Its cute.

Yes, it is still a surprise baby so we will let you know when "he or she" arrives.
