Happy 6th Birthday Alyssa

Posted by Picasa
We had a family party this year. I think we will do the "friends" party every other year. Its a little crazy with Corbin and Alyssa and Christmas all back to back. She did have a play date with one of her good friends in the morning and then got to invite a friend from school for cake that night. So she got to celebrate her birthday all day long!! She decorated the cake with her and Addy's Littlest Pet Shop animals and put the candle on all by herself. She thought it was fun to do it by herself. Alyssa got some fun presents from her fabulous friends and cousins..(cash register;because they are always playing store, books, wikiti sticks (bendaroos), & a pet shop stuffed animal she can play with online and take care of it, she loves that part. We played a little rockband while the girls played and did their thing.

Temple Square Lights

This was my first year to see Temple Square all lit up for christmas. We met up with Brads sister Julie and her two boys Friday night. It was so amazing to see everything lit up. Each branch was wrapped with lights, The Nativity was so neat to hear the story over a loud speaker, and most of all to see the Salt Lake Temple lit up in the middle of it all. Our kids didn't have the best time, because we were still used to Arizona weather, and they have never worn such big coats before. They were cold the whole time. So we didn't stay too long, but long enough to take it all in. We still have next year of course!!

A What for Christmas!!!

Yes Alyssa got a sewing machine for Christmas from her Grandma. Her first project was a pillow for Ava's doll. She was so proud of herself. She loves to be crafty just like her mom and Grandma.

Cute Girls

My mom made these cute outfits for the girls for Christmas. She bought them matching boots and made them purses to match. She made one for Ava too, but of course she was taking a nap at the time of pictures!! Thanks mom, you are so good and the girls love them.

Wii Fun

Whats a family function anymore without some Wii action. We had a bowling tornament and a race car tornment. Some of us stayed up later and continued playing with the Wii Fit. It is so much fun. We had a lot of fun making characters for everyone in the family and to see us talking to each other in the courtyard. Good call getting the Wii mom and dad. Next on your list....RockBand!!!

Chocolate Roll

This is for you Peggy. Every Christmas my mother in law makes this yummy dessert called a chocolate roll. Well its Brads favorite so I attempted to make it for him this Christmas to help him feel closer with his side and his traditions. Well my first attempt was a success. We made two log rolls and they were eaten up by the next day. A special thanks goes to my assistant chefs in the kitchen; Brad, Ellen, & Cassidy. I couldn't have done it without you!!! It was a lot of fun cooking with you guys on Christmas Day. Mom you did a wonderful Turkey too. yum yum.

Christmas morning

We spent Christmas this year with my family in California. All the cousins had a lot of fun playing together, Everyone got some fun presents, and we got to be in the rain instead of snow. It was a nice visit with everyone, as always the time went by fast and we missed our siblings who couldn't make it this year. Thanks mom and dad for letting us invade your house for a week!!!

Cars Birthday

Corbin had a "Cars" birthday party this year. He turned 4 years old and is such a fun boy. They played pin the wheel on the car, colored some pages out of his giant coloring book, and of course you can't forget playing with cars down a track. He had a lot of fun with his friends. Brad decorated his cake, what an awesome job he did. Happy Birthday buddy.

Corbins 4th Birthday

Corbin's awesome sunbeam teacher took him and his friends to "Jumpin Jacks" for his birthday. However it was in the morning and the heater wasn't on very long and we were freezing!! The kids were shivering as they climbed the slides and ran around. I had to keep telling them to keep running to stay warm. By the time we had to go it started to get a little warmer, but not much for some of the kids. They had a blast though.

The big feast

This Thanksgiving we celebrated with Julie. It was a very nice day overall, very relaxing and fun. We sure did miss the rest of our families this day and we are truly thankful for each and everyone of you. Before we sat down to eat we went around the table and said what we were thankful for and then we toasted toghether with some yummy sparkling cider.

The Turkey

This year we wanted to do a "pit" turkey again. Last time we did it with some friends on a bigger scale, this year we were flying solo. So Brad and his friend Edward dug a pit and put the turkeys in, covered it up (at 1 in the morning). Well we are in Utah with different conditions so needless to say when we took them out in the morning they were cold. The fire had gone out and the turkey was cooked a little bit. So Brad put it in the oven and It was still the best turkey ever! Good job honey you sure know how to cook up meat.

Thanksgiving Day Activities

The kids colored their turkey and pilgrim pictures.

We made Turkey sugar cookies to decorate and frost and of course eat!

Alyssa and Corbin made name cards for the table.

We watched the big Macy's Parade on TV in the morning.
