Corbin Lost his first TEETH!!

Last night Brad finally pulled out corbin's top tooth that has been so loose the last 2 months and still hadn't come out! He was so excited, he didn't know what was coming later! (either did we) As Brad was tucking Corbin in he called for me to come in and sure enough Corbin lost one of his bottom teeth (very loose too). So Corbin goes into the bathroom to wash out his mouth and start wiggling his other bottom tooth which has been very loose. He grabs it and pulls it out himself. What a champion. This kid keeps surprising us with things he does. So, he went to bed a very happy, excited boy and woke up with a bag full of money from the toothfairy!

Camping

We went camping at Jordanelle Lake this past weekend. We met up with two of my brothers and their families and had a great time. It was a little cold at night, but we all survived. Great weather in the day and good company at night around the campfire. Good times

Uncle Edward & Aunt Kelli Visit

This past week my brother and his family came for a visit. Alyssa was in heaven playing with Mackenzie and holding baby Edward whenever she could. Corbin loved putting Edward to sleep by singing to him or playing with him when he was awake. Edward got a boat while he was up here so we were lucky enough to have great weather to take it out a couple of time for a ride. The kids loved that!! It was a great week to spend with family and the kids had time with their cousins.

School Fun Run

Alyssa participated in her school's fun run this year. She got really nervous before the race started just like her mama always does! She had a great time and placed 6th in her grade. She was upset she didn't get first, but I told her it takes running a few races to know how to pace yourself. She was in second place the whole race until the last stretch and got tired. Next race we will have to practice more.

Canning

While my mom was up for a few days this past month we were able to fit in a few canning days. we made raspberry jam, mixed berry jam, peach jam, canned salsa, and chicken. We made homemade bread, and zucchini bread too. My mom doesn't do these things anymore so it was fun to do them together and she got to indulge in a little bit of heaven while she was here with all the homemade stuff. She spent many years canning, baking, and doing it all when we were younger, but now its just her and dad so she had fun doing it again and going home with a year supply of jams. While we were making jam and the jars were cooling it was fun to hear the "pop" of the lids every now and then as they sealed. my mom said we used to sit and watch the jars when we were kids and loved to hear them "pop".

Labor Day weekend

Monday we went to Utah lake with our friends the Wilkinsons to "sandy beach" is what they call this fun place. It was a cooler day than the rest of the weekend, but still warm enough to play in the water and sand. The guys built their own countries and island using the river/canal/moat meathod, kept them busy for hours. The girls and I made my favorite "drip castles" and played mermaids and I even snuck in a nap on my chair, it was a very relaxing and quiet place. The water was shallow all around us with many sandbars so the kids had fun running around in it. We had a great time, and will have to go back the next hot day we can. very fun. On a random note today we wanted to share the news that I am pregnant and we are expecting another baby next spring. We are all very excited to add to our family.

HIke to Candy Cave

This Labor Day weekend while Brad was on his Motorcycle ride Saturday, I took the kids with some friends on a hike in Provo. Our friends call it Candy Cave where we hiked in and the kids got to find some candy that is left there by the candy elves. It was great weather and we all had a great time. It wore us all out by the end though. I hope to upload a video clip I took of the hike, but we will see how that goes. =)

Soccer Season

Our first year in soccer and we become coaches!! I said when we signed Corbin up that we would be coaches if they needed us, well with 42 teams for his age group they needed us. It has been a lot of fun and the kids are great. We have a great team with good kids. There are 8 kids on a team and we have been playing twice a week. We are the Tangerines (orange team), not the best color, but you can really see them all on the field really well. Corbin is doing awesome at soccer, and he loves it. He caught on to the rules and how to play quickly and has a really good backwards kick he uses in every game.

Spa Night

This is one of things we did with our many cucumbers from our garden. The kids had fun, but it took them awhile to sit still and relax!

Our Garden

This summer our garden took off and we loved watching things grow. We had a very abdundant supply of tomatoes, onions, carrots, cucumbers, green beans, and a couple of green peppers and corn. It went well for our first year of gardening, but as always you learn and hope for a better year next time. (now that we know kind of what we are doing.=)
