Sledding

We took the kids sledding this past weekend. It was a lot of fun....mostly for those who could go sledding =( (yes that was a poor me moment) The hill was a good size and the kids really got into it. Really that last couple seasons they only remember the little hills I make for them in the yard or the big snow mountain left at the end of the street by the snow plow. So they really enjoyed "real" sledding for once. It was raining in our neighborhood, but by the time we made it up in the canyon the rain turned to snow and was so much fun. Because my pregnant fried brain I didn't notice my camara was on the wrong setting the whole time so these are the pictures we have to live with.

Valentines Day

Because Brad and I went out to dinner for Valentines Day I made a nice dinner for the kids at home. They loved the fancy settings (well fancy to them) and I served them as their waitress as if they were at a fancy restaurant. It was fun to make their dinner a big deal for them. They love the "special" occasions just as much as we do. Happy Love Day to all of you out there.

Alyssa's Baptism

Well this is it. Our little girl made the decision to get baptized. It was a beautiful day seeing her smiling at everything coming her way and dressed in white. She was very excited the whole week prior to her special day and couldn't wait. We had lots of family and friends there at her baptism supporting her on her day. Thanks for coming everyone. Grandma Marshall made her baptism dress from my wedding dress and she looked gorgeous. My mom has amazing talent and we all loved the dress that fit her perfectly. Its nice to put 1 baptism under our belt to know what to expect and how things go. Brad did a great job and made sure she was dunked all the way the first time.

Alyssa turns 8

Alyssa's Birthday turned out great this year. She loved her presents (especially her new webkinz), a wii singing game and a beautiful cake made by our neighbor as a surprise. I lucked out that she never asked me about her cake before her party so I didn't have to lie where it was coming from. She was a very happy girl by the end of the day. I can't believe she is the big "8" already!! Time flies by people.

Ava sewing

For Christmas Ava got a sewing machine so she can join in the fun with her mom and sister. Its the perfect size for her. She made a pocket bag of some kind for her first project. She was very proud of herself. She got Corbin to be her official "thread cutter" to include him in her fun.

Snow Angels

It looks like I have two kids that fell asleep in the snow out there. The snow is finally melting off, but we are sad to see it go. The kids have loved going out there and playing in it everyday. waiting for the next storm to bring us more.

Bowling

We went bowling one day with the family. The kids did just as good as the adults! My excuse was that I had a belly in the way and I couldn't get my form correct each time. I don't know what Brad's excuse was....

Its a boy...

Hi Friends and Family. I got to thinking I haven't officially posted that we are expecting a boy in a few months. He was hard to see in the ultrasound, but the second time around we saw that the baby is a Boy. So far everything is going well and we are both healthy and the family is very excited for the new arrival. Due Date is April 6th.

Visit from Santa Claus

Santa came to my parents house one of the nights we had a party with everyone. Most of the kids loved him and had a great time sitting on his lap. A few of the younger ones weren't quite sure what to think and wanted to get off, and the babies all loved to pull at his beard.

Christmas 2010

We had a great Christmas this year. It was great to see siblings and cousins and lots of nieces and nephews. The kids got spoiled with presents and activities all week and had a great time playing every day. It rained for most of the trip, but all the kids did super for being inside so much. Alyssa loves her doll she got, corbin got his first dart gun and loves to target things with it and Ava loves her princess dolls and baby things she got for christmas. All together it was a very joyous holiday!

Gingerbread House Tradition

Every year around this time we make Gingerbread Houses with the kids. This year we invited some friends to join in the fun with us too. We paired off into partners and started the fun. Its fun to see the houses, tee pees, pyramids, dog house, sleds that we all create each year. One of the good things of course is to sneek some candy between your building skills.

Alyssa's Country Report

In Alyssa's class she had to pick a country to report on to her class. She picked to study Panama. I was her picture girl/assistant. She did such a great job and was so excited the whole time to study for her report. We are very proud of her getting in front of her class and talking and reading about her report. (she doesn't like to be in spotlight).
My cool scarf was due to the very cold temperature in her classroom. I didn't bring a jacket thinking it would be warm in the class, but no. So I raided Alyssa's backpack for something to wear to keep warm!

A Fun Snow Day

One morning we woke up to snow everywhere (no surprise there). This time the snow was mostly ice and very dry so it was like our cul-du-sac was a giant ice rink. We got the neighborhood kids out and they were pulling each on their sleds. It was a very fun morning.

Snow....

Corbin has gotten so big this past year inside and out. He has loved going out with Brad in the mornings to shovel the driveway and sidewalks after a storm. Its good to have another great helper around the house, Although I love to shovel snow too so I am out there with them too.
