Visit from cousin Kenzie

Kelli drove up to Utah this past week for a visit and to bless their baby. We have only seen pictures of this cute little girl until now. She is so cute and the kids adored her. We can't wait to see her again in a couple of days.

Julie's Birthday

I forgot to post our fun day with Julie on her Birthday! A couple of weekends ago we drove up to Layton and had a great time. We enjoyed yummy food, cake, ice cream. Fun presents: camera, picture frame, service for hanging home decor (brad), and Shoes! Lots of cute Shoes! We went to her classroom and played on the playground, yes people did go on her roof to hang out too. random I know. Happy Birthday Julie, glad to be here to celebrate with you. Love you.

Lost Tooth

Alyssa lost her 3rd tooth about a week and a half ago. She went crazy (brad too) trying to wiggle it and pull on it and just do anything she could to get it out. She was very excited about the tooth fairy coming this time (unlike last visit). Grandma Marshall made a pillow with a pocket to hold her tooth in for the tooth fairy. Now she wiggles the other big tooth and thinks its loose too....here we go again!

Conference Weekend

So this conference weekend went really well with the kids. We still had loud noises, and crying babies and the occasional brother sister banter, but we can honestly say we all got something from each speaker. My sister in law did this idea last session so I thought I would try it out. On the wall are pictures and commonly used topics that people talk about. Alyssa helped me color them and we put them in a page protector. Then I printed out the apostles pictures and laminated them and made cards for each of them. So when they heard that apostle talk they put it on the topic picture they thought it was. I also made "ears" for the other speakers (ears for listen or what we heard them say) so we got to see what everyone talked about. It was great to see the kids picking out words and phrases from the talks and it made Brad and I pay attention a lot better too. I have all the stuff to make this activity on word doc. if anyone is interested for next session or if just want to make apostle cards with their info on the back. I can email it to you. We all can't wait for October! Thanks Aunt Liz and Aunt Julie for the fun activity pages.

Here are some pictures of our new house. The first two pics is our downstairs which is our family room and office. Then the kitchen. The second row is our front room/play room. The front door and the stairs going upstairs to the bedrooms. The front room and kitchen is on the main level we call it. The 3rd row of pictures is our basement. This is storage/my office and the kids craft/play place. The last picture is a crawl place for more storage. its about 4' tall inside, but perfect for seasonal storage. We have been loving it so far. The ward has been great and friendly and the neighborhood is quiet and its in a cul-de-sac. great for the kids.

Watching the snow fall down

Our whole family has enjoyed the snow this year! Its been so fun to play in. The other day I caught the kids sitting in front of the window watching the snow come down. I got the picture just in time, because that moment didn't last very long.
This is the view of our backyard during the snow storm. Its so pretty when everything is covered with snow and white.

Valentines Dinner

Every year The Thompsons have a Chinese dinner for Valentines. So we kept the tradition going and ate yummy Egg rolls and Chicken fried rice. Everything was so good, we all didnt' want to stop eating! The kids favorite part was after dinner when we brought out the chocolate covered strawberries for dessert.

March Fo{u}rth Party

Every March 4th we get together with family in person, phone, or via email to talk about our goals form the previous year and to set new ones for the upcoming year. This year we got together with the Thompsons and Julie, Cody and Garrett. We all had yummy sub sandwiches, chips, potatoe salad, and pink lemonade. Cody led the march with his trumpet and all the rest of us followed him around the house. As you can see Ava's picture she did not like what we were doing. She didn't move from the couch the whole time and had that worried look like " what are you guys doing?" After the marching we sat down and talked about how we did on our goals from 2008 and we all came up with some good ones for 2009.

We all vote for two adults winners and two kid winners each year to win the "Golden Boot Award" Congratulations to Tara, Liz, Cody and Spencer. Everyone did an awesome job this year and it looks like we have some good cometition for this year too. Happy March!

Happy 6th Birthday Alyssa

Posted by Picasa
We had a family party this year. I think we will do the "friends" party every other year. Its a little crazy with Corbin and Alyssa and Christmas all back to back. She did have a play date with one of her good friends in the morning and then got to invite a friend from school for cake that night. So she got to celebrate her birthday all day long!! She decorated the cake with her and Addy's Littlest Pet Shop animals and put the candle on all by herself. She thought it was fun to do it by herself. Alyssa got some fun presents from her fabulous friends and cousins..(cash register;because they are always playing store, books, wikiti sticks (bendaroos), & a pet shop stuffed animal she can play with online and take care of it, she loves that part. We played a little rockband while the girls played and did their thing.
