St. Louis Arch

The Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri was one of our many stops on our trip back east this summer. We were able to go see the arch with some of Brad's sisters and the kids cousins. It was amazing to see, so big, the pictures on how it was constructed were crazy too. So we arrive at 4:00 pm and get our tickets for the 5:45 tram to go up. (It was the next one available) We go to the museum and look around, then get our passes to go up at 5:00, we wait some more, some more, some more. We finally get postioned in our numbers to know which car tram we will be going up in and the conductor person gets on the speaker and has bad news for us. It has been raining hard the last hour or so and parts of the arch are flooding from the rain so they closed the south side, then he gets on the speaker again and says they now have closed the north side (our side) and no more trams are going up for the day!! So 2 hours in waiting and just about to take a couple of feet inside the tram to go up and we can't go up!! I mean how often our we in Missouri to see the arch!! Positive side: It was a bad weather day so we wouldn't be able to see very much at the top anyway so we got our money back and will have to try that adventure out again someday!

I didn't know you could even go inside the arch. I thought it was purely for aesthetics. I'm glad you got your money back, though. Now, if only someone could refund time!
